Fireworks by the sea

The day before, we (Thilak's friend Satish and us two) went for a night time stroll by the beach here. On the spur of the moment, we decided to burst fireworks. We chose our favourites, bought a lighter and went off to burst fireworks like little children. Despite the strong breezes from the sea that kept the lighter's flame a bit unpredictable, we lit rockets and some very pretty fireworks on the beach shore, with only a golden half moon's rays to light up the pitch dark. It was so much fun! At one point, someone else on the beach burst into Japlish 'Happy birthday' song as a gang of girls lit rockets which seemed to soar right over the moon to burst into a shower of falling stars. It is something I'd wish to remember forever - the sound of the waves, city lights reflecting over the surface of the bay, the setting moon, our laughter, the fireworks and the feel of smooth sand under bare feet as I watched a shower of man-made stars fall over the moon.........
